Remembrance Sunday Parades

On Sunday 9th November, the Millisle & District Somme Society were honoured to take part in two remembrance services.

We began the day at the Somme Memorial Garden in Cloughey, attending their 8am Remembrance Service. Following this, we travelled back up the Ards Peninsula to join the Royal British Legion, Millisle, for their annual remembrance parade and service.

It was a privilege for our Society to be invited to both the Somme Memorial Garden in Cloughey and the Royal British Legion’s Remembrance Parade in Millisle.

The Royal British Legion in Millisle saw an excellent turnout, with their branch officers and members supported by our Somme Society, the Loyal Orders, Girls’ Brigade, Millisle Primary School, and many others within the local community who proudly took part in the parade and service.
